For those wishing to do the optional day tour to Petra, there will be an early start to cross the border into Jordan at 8am. We will cross over into the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan at Aqaba and travel north through the Mountains of Edom to visit Petra, the capital city of the ancient Nabateans. Here we will explore some of the most colourful and spectacular ruins from the ancient world (Petra is listed as a World Heritage site and is considered to be one of the ancient wonders). Afterwards we return to Eilat to re-join those who decided to spend the day in that city.
